3 companies name VEL as a compensation peer

Each company listed discloses VEL in its own benchmarking peer group, as disclosed in each company's most recent proxy statement within the last two proxy seasons. Two companies are therefore absent by design: one that named VEL in an earlier year and no longer does, and one whose own most recent disclosure is older than the last two seasons.

Incentive-plan design — the Compensation Discussion & Analysis

The goal of our executive compensation program is to create long-term value for our investors while at the same time reward our executives for superior financial and operating performance and encourage them to remain with us for long, productive careers. We believe the most effective way to achieve this objective is to design an executive compensation program rewarding the achievement of each executive and aligning executives interests with those of our investors by using equity as a component of compensation.
