Incentive-plan design — the Compensation Discussion & Analysis

Our compensation structure is centered on a pay-for-performance philosophy designed to align the interests of our executives and stockholders, motivate executives to achieve targeted financial and other performance objectives, and reward them for their achievements. We balance short-term cash incentives with long-term equity-based compensation to ensure focus on both current-year financial goals and long-term strategic objectives, while maintaining competitive total compensation levels relative to peer companies in the homebuilding industry.
